About

Almuth was born and raised in Vienna, Austria, though she spent the first two years of her life in Rochester, Minnesota.

When her family returned to Vienna, Almuth grew up in a unique blend of Austrian and American culture. Her parents, having had the time of their lives living overseas, brought many American influences back with them. Their home was filled with American TV shows recorded on videocassettes, the whimsical stories of Dr. Seuss, and the music of Dolly Parton. Dolly, especially in her collaboration with Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt as the Trio, captivated Almuth. She often admired Dolly’s dresses, hair, and, of course, the trio’s beautiful harmonies. Almuth’s father was also a big fan, and together they would sing folk and country songs during car rides—a shared passion for the romanticized Wild West with its prairies, canyons, horses, and ranches.

Over the past six years, Almuth has been writing songs, blending her love of folk and country music with contemporary pop and electronic beats. A friend once described her sound as “ethereal giddy-up!” Her debut EP, A Wind That Never Dies, will be released on December 6th 2024.

In addition to her solo work, Almuth performs as a member of the live band Pressyes (background vocals and percussion) and Royal Diving Academy (vocals).
